Fiorentina Submit Improved Loan Bid for Arokodare as Wolves Talks Continue
Fiorentina have tabled an improved offer for Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare, stepping up their pursuit of the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker after an initial bid was turned down last week.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that the Serie A club's revised proposal is structured as a loan deal with a buy clause set at €22 million. Romano confirmed the development on X, writing:
"Fiorentina submit new proposal to sign Tolu Arokodare as talks with Wolves continue. Loan with €22m buy clause offered, talks underway with Tolu keen on Fiorentina as next step for his career."
Negotiations between Fiorentina and Wolverhampton Wanderers remain ongoing, with the Italian side hopeful of securing an agreement for a player who has emerged as one of their primary attacking targets this summer. The Super Eagles forward is also reported to be eager to make the move, viewing Fiorentina as the ideal next chapter in his career.
Arokodare's difficult debut season in England
The 25-year-old joined Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk. His debut campaign in England proved difficult — Arokodare managed three goals and one assist across 33 league appearances for the club, who were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship.
Despite a underwhelming first season, Wolves hold Arokodare under contract until 2029, with an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months. The Premier League club's willingness to sanction a loan exit will be key to whether Fiorentina can complete the signing before the transfer window closes.
