Benjamin Fredrick has spoken of his pride and excitement after committing to a new four-year deal with Brentford and earning a place in the club's first-team squad.

The Premier League side confirmed the agreement on Friday, announcing that the Nigeria international had secured his long-term future at the West London club.

Speaking to Brentford's official website, Fredrick made no effort to hide his joy. "It's a great feeling. I'm happy and proud of myself, and my family are proud of me as well," the 21-year-old said.

The mentor who made a difference

Fredrick paid particular tribute to Neil MacFarlane, the coach who guided him during his time with Brentford B and who has since moved into a role as an assistant first-team coach.

"The club has helped me a lot. When I came here, I was a little bit nervous and shy. I didn't know how to do the basics because where I'm from is a little bit different to here," Fredrick explained.

"Especially Neil when I first came here. He always encouraged me, never shouted when I made mistakes and just told me to keep my head down and keep playing. He's helped me grow as a player and a person as well."

Hunger for Premier League minutes

With his future secured, Fredrick has set his sights firmly on making an impact in the 2025/26 season. The Nigerian forward outlined a clear ambition: a senior debut and meaningful time on the Premier League stage.

"I just want to keep pushing and learning every single day," he said. "My aim is to make my debut with the first team, get Premier League minutes and give my best when I have the opportunity."

Fredrick's rise through Brentford's development system stands as a testament to the club's reputation for nurturing talent — and the young Nigerian will be eager to repay that faith at the highest level.
