Maxwell Konadu, head coach of Ghana's Black Satellites, says the prospect of facing Nigeria's Flying Eagles has his squad fired up ahead of their opening match at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 qualifiers.
The two sides meet at the Lycée Scientifique Stadium in a fixture that reignites one of West Africa's most intense footballing rivalries. For Ghana, there is added incentive — the Black Satellites are eager to avenge a 2-1 defeat to the Flying Eagles in the final of the previous edition, held in Lomé, Togo.
Speaking at Sunday's pre-match press conference, Konadu made clear that the identity of the opponent alone is enough to sharpen his players' focus.
