Belgian police have arrested a suspect following a violent daylight robbery targeting Ghana international Mohammed Fuseini, a forward for Royal Union St-Gilloise, in the Belgian capital Brussels.

Fuseini, 24, was sitting in his parked car on Sunday when five hooded attackers surrounded the vehicle, pulled him from the driver's seat, and placed him in a chokehold. The assailants made off with two iPhones, his wallet, and a Rolex Datejust watch estimated to be worth between €8,000 and €14,000.

Video footage of the assault — originally published by Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws — circulated widely on television and social media, showing the attackers overpowering Fuseini before throwing him to the ground and fleeing. The incident reportedly occurred near the Bloody Louis nightclub in central Brussels. Footage said to have been recorded by one of Fuseini's teammates is now part of the ongoing police investigation.

Back in training after hospital discharge

Fuseini escaped without serious injuries and was taken to hospital for examination before being cleared to return to football activities. He was back on the training pitch with Royal Union St-Gilloise on Monday.

The club confirmed the incident in a statement, expressing relief at their player's condition.
