Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens has declared that the club's aim this season is to win every major honour available to them — a bold statement as Xabi Alonso begins his first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Gittens, speaking to beIN Sports, left no room for ambiguity: "We want to win everything — that is our ambition: to win the Premier League, the FA Cup and anything else that we're in."

A fresh start after a turbulent year

The confidence comes after one of Chelsea's most difficult recent campaigns. The Blues finished 10th in the Premier League last season, missing out on European football on the final day. Manager Enzo Maresca departed in January, with his successor Liam Rosenior sacked just over three months later.

Alonso, who arrived in June, brings with him an extraordinary record. As Bayer Leverkusen boss, he guided the German club to a domestic double in the 2023-24 season without losing a single match — a feat that captured the imagination of football fans worldwide.

New arrivals raise expectations

Chelsea have moved quickly in the transfer market, bringing in Morgan Rogers, Marco Palestra, and Geovany Quenda ahead of the new campaign. Gittens believes those additions will push the squad to new levels.

"Bringing in a player like Morgan will hopefully raise the bar to win titles," he said. "Our quality is there. As a team, we have individuals on the pitch who can do amazing things, but we have to try and put that together."

Gittens also acknowledged the mental demands of a long season. "Working on ourselves every day, having one game per week is not easy, mentally. You want to keep playing games, but it will be a good season," he added.

Outsiders looking in

Chelsea's optimism will be tested against established contenders. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are widely regarded as the favourites for the Premier League title in 2026-27, with few pundits tipping Alonso's side to challenge in his debut season. Gittens and his teammates, it seems, have other ideas.
