Kai Havertz has credited Arsenal's mastery of set pieces as one of the defining factors behind their Premier League title triumph last season — the club's first league championship since 2004.

Arsenal edged out Manchester City to end a two-decade wait for top-flight glory, and Havertz believes their dead-ball prowess was central to that achievement.

A record-breaking dead-ball formula

According to The Athletic, Arsenal scored more set-piece goals — excluding penalties — than any other side in the division, setting a new Premier League record with 18 to 19 goals from corners alone.

Those goals accounted for roughly 35 percent or more of Arsenal's total output, with many of them either putting the side ahead or proving decisive in closely contested matches.

Equally impressive was Arsenal's defensive record from set pieces — they conceded among the fewest in the league, making dead-ball situations a weapon at both ends of the pitch.
