Hearts Target Ghuendouz as Celtic Eye Duran and Engels Faces Uncertain Future

Hearts are on the verge of signing French winger Sabri Ghuendouz, with the Edinburgh club having agreed a fee of £870,000 with Belgian side Beerschot for the 26-year-old. Ghuendouz is set to undergo a medical on Monday before completing the move.
Across the city, Celtic are monitoring a number of attacking and midfield targets as the Scottish champions look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The club could make a move for Qarabag striker Camilo Duran, with the 24-year-old Colombian valued at around £2 million.
Engels decision looms for Celtic
Celtic midfielder Arne Engels is set to determine his future before returning to pre-season training, with the 22-year-old Belgian attracting interest from Roma, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest. The trio of clubs have all expressed their desire to sign the midfielder, adding pressure to Celtic to resolve the situation quickly.
Celtic are also monitoring Go Ahead Eagles midfielder Jakob Breum. The 22-year-old Dane, valued at £4.4 million, has drawn attention from Sunderland and Fulham as well, making any potential deal a competitive pursuit.
Scottish clubs busy in the market
In the Scottish Premiership, Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan is attracting Premier League interest. Southampton, West Ham United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.
Both Aberdeen and Hibernian have turned their attention to St Patrick's Athletic midfielder Kian Leavy. The 24-year-old has caught the eye of the two Scottish clubs as they look to add quality in the middle of the park.
Rangers are searching for right-back reinforcements after complications arose in their pursuit of Everton's Nathan Patterson. The 24-year-old Scotland international's wage demands and transfer fee — despite entering the final 12 months of his contract — have made negotiations difficult. Meanwhile, Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin, 25, has indicated he is leaving any decision on his future to his agents while he focuses on representing Belgium at the World Cup.
Miller poised for Maccabi Tel Aviv role
Former Scotland striker Kenny Miller is expected to be appointed head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv on a permanent basis. Miller led the Israeli club to victory in the Israeli Cup final over Hapoel Beer Sheva in a caretaker capacity, following the departure of Ronny Deila, and is now in line to take the role full-time.
St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari, meanwhile, says there is no immediate urgency to sign a new goalkeeper after Ross Sinclair committed to the club by signing a new contract.
