Hull City have secured the signature of Norwegian midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl, bringing the 20-year-old to the club from Tromso on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Hjerto-Dahl arrives as one of the standout performers in Norway's Eliteserien this season, sitting joint-second among the division's top scorers at the halfway point with seven goals in 14 appearances. The Norwegian campaign runs through to November.

The Norway Under-21 international also brings continental experience to the Tigers, having featured in Europa League and Conference League qualifying rounds. That pedigree comes at a timely moment, with Hull back in the Premier League this season.

"I'm very happy. It's a massive club and I'm really looking forward to playing here," said Hjerto-Dahl. "I needed a challenge and this is the biggest challenge you can get. I think this is the right step and that Hull can help me improve."

The signing marks Hull's sixth addition of the summer transfer window. Hjerto-Dahl is expected to line up in the middle of the park alongside fellow new arrivals Oscar Zambrano and Hidemasa Morita under manager Sergej Jakirovic.

Hull have been active across multiple positions this summer, also bringing in goalkeepers Jack Butland and Konstantinos Tzolakis, as well as left-back Matt Targett.
