Greece winger Alexandros Kyziridis has departed Heart of Midlothian for Turkish club Corum in a deal worth approximately £1.7 million, with the newly promoted Super Lig side securing him on a three-year contract that includes an option for a further 12 months.

The 25-year-old arrived at Tynecastle last summer on a free transfer from Slovakian outfit Zemplin Michalovce and earned his first international cap for Greece this year. In his single season with Hearts, Kyziridis contributed six goals and 11 assists across 45 appearances.

Corum, who have clinched promotion to the Super Lig for the first time in their history, moved swiftly to land the winger on a long-term deal.

Vrancken backs the move

Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken addressed the transfer after Sunday's 4-0 victory over Dundee United, speaking to BBC Scotland. "It's a good deal for the club, a good deal for him," Vrancken said. "He came in for nothing and goes out for a good deal. This is football, we focus on the players who are here."

The Belgian coach's measured response underscores the business logic behind the deal — Hearts signed Kyziridis at no cost and recoup a reported £1.7 million fee, a considerable return on their initial outlay.
