Liverpool secured their first Premier League home victory of the season at Anfield, defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 to push themselves into the top four.

The goals arrived in quick succession, with a Pascal Gross own goal opening the scoring before Alexander Isak added a second to put the result beyond doubt.

The win marks a significant moment for Liverpool, who had been waiting to claim three points on home soil in the league this term. Moving into the top four underlines the importance of the result for Arne Slot's side.

Brighton, for their part, were unable to find a response and left Merseyside pointless as Liverpool took full advantage of their home support at Anfield.
