Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that midfielder James Maddison will be available to face Crystal Palace on Saturday, easing concerns that arose when the player left the field during last week's match at Chelsea.
Maddison limped off in the 51st minute of Spurs' 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, raising alarm given his recent injury history. The 29-year-old missed most of last season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, then fractured his shoulder in Tottenham's opening match of this season — a defeat at Brentford.
He made his return to the starting line-up earlier this month, marking the occasion with a spectacular goal in a 3-1 victory over Coventry.
De Zerbi's assessment
Speaking ahead of the Palace fixture, De Zerbi confirmed Maddison's availability despite a reduced training week.
