Manchester City have secured the signing of Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton on a deadline day deal worth up to £65 million.

The 26-year-old joins City on a five-year contract, tying him to the Etihad Stadium until 2031. The fee is structured as £60 million up front, with a further £5 million available in add-ons.

Ndiaye's move to City was not straightforward. Tottenham had reached an agreement with Everton on Friday night over a deal for the winger, with that transfer seemingly linked to Richarlison heading in the opposite direction. However, Richarlison could not agree personal terms with his former club Everton, which meant Spurs were forced to abandon their pursuit of Ndiaye — opening the door for City to swoop.

The signing comes on a remarkable deadline day for Manchester City, who also agreed to pay a joint-British transfer record fee of £125 million to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez on the same day.
