Gabriel Martinelli has completed a move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal from Arsenal, with the transfer fee set at an initial £60 million.

The 25-year-old Brazil international has signed a long-term contract with Al-Hilal, ending a seven-year chapter at Emirates Stadium that began when he arrived from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019.

The deal includes a sell-on clause in addition to the fixed £60 million fee — a significant piece of business as Martinelli had 12 months left on his Arsenal contract.

Manager Mikel Arteta had informed Martinelli that he was no longer part of his plans for the current season, effectively paving the way for the departure.

Al-Hilal are currently joint-top of the Saudi Pro League alongside Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, and Martinelli's arrival adds further firepower to one of the division's leading sides.
