Samuel Mbangula delivered a stunning hat trick as Bologna stormed back to defeat AC Milan 4-2, handing the hosts their first Serie A loss of the season.

Mbangula's treble was the centrepiece of a dominant Bologna display that overturned what had appeared to be a promising position for AC Milan on home soil. The visitors were clinical and composed throughout, punishing Milan with a performance that will long be remembered at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

For AC Milan, the result marks a damaging blow to what had been an unblemished league record this campaign. The defeat ends their unbeaten run in Serie A and sends a clear signal to title rivals across the division.

Bologna, meanwhile, announced themselves as genuine contenders with a display of attacking intent and tactical discipline. Mbangula's brilliant individual contribution — three goals in a single match — elevated him to the status of the evening's standout performer.

The 4-2 scoreline reflects the scale of Bologna's ambition on the night and the difficulty AC Milan faced in containing them once the visitors found their rhythm.
