Manchester United are searching for solutions to a glaring goalscoring problem, and one name is emerging as a surprise answer: Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian international, currently on a remarkable run of form for Galatasaray, has been identified as a potential transfer target by former Liverpool and Queens Park Rangers striker Djibril Cisse. The 27-year-old has netted nine goals in his last nine matches across all competitions for the Istanbul club, including a brace in a derby victory over Fenerbahce.
Osimhen's case for a Premier League move
The numbers behind Osimhen's current campaign make compelling reading. He has scored eight league goals in fewer than 500 minutes of Super Lig football, a rate that places him among the most prolific strikers in Europe this season — second only to Barcelona's Raphinha in Europe's top five leagues on a per-90-minutes basis.
Cisse, speaking to Mr Gamble, believes Osimhen has everything needed to thrive in English football.
