Bryan Mbeumo has pushed back on claims that Manchester United's players failed manager Michael Carrick following a 2-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

The result has intensified scrutiny of Carrick's position at Old Trafford, despite the manager having steered United back into the UEFA Champions League earlier this season. Questions over his long-term future continue to grow with each poor result.

Mentality was never in doubt, says Mbeumo

Speaking to TNT Sports after the final whistle, Mbeumo directly addressed suggestions that the dressing room had let their manager down during a difficult afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
