Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler has suggested that winger Yankuba Minteh could complete a move to Liverpool as early as January, provided the player and club continue to perform this season.
Liverpool closed out the summer transfer window without signing a natural right-winger to succeed Mohamed Salah, whose departure from Anfield marked the end of a celebrated era. Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola arrived in attack, though neither is considered a natural fit on the right flank. A separate pursuit of Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr also failed to produce a deal.
Veteran winger Cody Gakpo had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City late in the window, but Liverpool chose to retain him as additional cover on the right side.
Hurzeler's message to Minteh
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Brighton's weekend clash with Leeds United, Hurzeler addressed the speculation surrounding his winger directly.
