Moffi Set for Hamburg Medical Ahead of Permanent Bundesliga Move

Nigeria international Terem Moffi is on the verge of joining Hamburg on a permanent basis, with the Bundesliga side set to put him through a medical before completing the deal.

Transfer expert Fabrice Hawkins reports that Hamburg have struck an agreement with OGC Nice to sign the 27-year-old striker for a fee of €2.5 million, including bonuses. Moffi is expected to undergo his medical on Saturday, after which he would sign a contract running until June 2029.

A turbulent spell at Nice

Moffi initially arrived at Nice on loan from Lorient in January 2023, with the transfer made permanent later that same summer. He went on to make 72 appearances for the French club across all competitions, scoring 24 goals.

His final season at Nice, however, was marked by hardship. In November, he and several teammates were attacked by the club's own supporters after stepping off the team bus following a 3-1 defeat at Lorient — his former club. The incident left Moffi on sick leave for a week.

A brief renaissance at Porto

Following that difficult period, Moffi secured a loan move to Portuguese giants FC Porto, where he contributed one goal and one assist in nine league outings. He was also part of the Porto squad that clinched the Portuguese league title last season — a bright moment in what had otherwise been a testing campaign.

Now, with Hamburg preparing to make him a permanent signing, Moffi has the opportunity to rebuild his career in Germany's top flight.
