Morata Hails Osimhen as One of the World's Top Three Strikers
Álvaro Morata has placed Victor Osimhen among the three finest strikers on the planet, crediting the Super Eagles forward with outstanding quality both on and off the pitch.
The two forwards shared a dressing room at Galatasaray during the 2024/25 Turkish Super Lig season, and the experience left Morata with deep admiration for his Nigerian teammate.
Morata's glowing praise
Speaking to Sporty TV, Morata was effusive in his assessment of Osimhen's character and ability. "Victor is a fantastic guy, Victor is a legend. He's so funny, he helps people all the time. For me, he's one of the top three strikers in the world. I really enjoyed playing with him," he said.
Morata also offered a vivid snapshot of Osimhen's mentality during matches, recalling how the Nigerian was constantly demanding the ball in behind opposing defences. "I remember sometimes I played behind Victor and he was like, put the ball in the space, I'll score. I think he's one of the best," Morata added.
Morata hopes Osimhen stays at Galatasaray
Beyond the praise, Morata revealed a personal desire to see Osimhen remain at Galatasaray — while acknowledging that the striker's ceiling may still be unknown. "I hope that he's enjoying Galatasaray because it's a fantastic club but I don't know where is the limit of Victor. I don't want him to leave Galatasaray but I would like to watch where is Victor's limit," he told Sporty TV.
Morata himself has since moved on from Galatasaray, joining Leganés. The warm words from a seasoned European striker will, however, add further fuel to the ongoing debate over Osimhen's standing among the elite in world football.
