Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi has declared that the national team stand fully behind captain Achraf Hakimi, following a French appeals court ruling on Friday that confirmed Hakimi will face trial in a rape case.

Ouahbi described the Paris Saint-Germain defender as "very relaxed" and stressed that the squad's support for him remains unwavering as the legal proceedings move forward.

The appeals court decision means Hakimi, who serves as Morocco's captain, will now stand before a French court to answer the rape allegation. The case had previously been under investigation in France.

Despite the seriousness of the charges, Ouahbi made clear that the Moroccan camp is choosing to stand by their skipper during what is an intensely difficult period for the player personally.
