Motsepe Meets Ruto in Nairobi to Advance AFCON 2027 Preparations

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe travelled to Nairobi for a high-level meeting with Kenya's Head of State, Dr William Ruto, with preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2027 at the top of the agenda.
President Ruto expressed gratitude for Motsepe's dedication to African football and pledged Kenya's full commitment to ensuring the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 is a landmark event for the continent. Motsepe, in turn, acknowledged Ruto's backing and the two leaders discussed several outstanding matters related to the tournament's organisation.
Stadium inspections
During his time in Kenya, Motsepe toured the newly-built Talanta Sports International Stadium, expressing satisfaction with the progress achieved at the venue. He also inspected Kasarani Stadium and offered detailed feedback on the remaining work required before the competition gets underway.
The visit was attended by a delegation that included CAF acting General Secretary Samson Adamu, CECAFA President Paulos Weldehaimanot Andemariam, Kenya's Minister of Sport Hon Salim Mvurya, and FKF President Hussein Mohammed.
