Republic of Ireland captain Nathan Collins faces a race against time to be fit for his country's opening Nations League fixtures after sustaining a calf injury during Brentford's 1-1 draw with Sunderland in the Premier League last weekend.

Collins was withdrawn from the match as the injury took hold, and Brentford manager Keith Andrews confirmed the defender will miss their upcoming Premier League clash against Bournemouth — as well as the start of the international break.
