Ndidi Sets the Record Straight on Vardy's 'Juju Cream' Claims

Wilfred Ndidi has pushed back against claims made by former Leicester City teammate Jamie Vardy, who alleged that Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho relied on a so-called "juju cream" during their injury recoveries at the club.

Vardy made the remarks on the latest episode of his podcast, Jamie Vardy's Having a Party, recounting how the two Nigerian players would travel home after picking up knocks, then return to Leicester City with what he described as "a nice big tub of juju cream" — the only substance the club's masseuse was permitted to apply to the injured area.

The 39-year-old, who won the Premier League title with Leicester City in 2016, added that the players told their teammates the ointment had been sourced from "a Nigerian witch doctor."

"They used to get injured. Little knocks, then go back to Nigeria for just one day. They come back with a nice big tub of juju cream. That was the only thing that the masseuse was allowed to apply to the injured area. They used to tell us that it had come from a Nigerian witch doctor," Vardy said.

The comments spread quickly across social media, drawing responses from several people in football circles. Among them was former Everton and Nigeria international Victor Anichebe, who tagged both Ndidi and Iheanacho on Instagram, asking them to clarify what cream Vardy was referring to.

Ndidi responded directly to Anichebe's comment, explaining that the substance in question was simply shea butter — a natural product widely used across Nigeria — and not any form of mystical remedy.
