Osimhen Strikes Again as Galatasaray Demolish Konyaspor 4-0

1 hour ago·1 min

Victor Osimhen scored in his third consecutive league match as Galatasaray cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Friday night, with his Nigeria teammate Chidozie Awaziem on the losing side.

Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 12th minute, heading home a cross from Gabriel Sara at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium — and remarkably, he made the trip to Konya having stayed in Istanbul just a day earlier following the birth of his second child, Liora Audrey.

The Nigeria international now has nine league goals from eight appearances this season in the Turkish top flight — a return that underlines his form since joining Galatasaray on loan.

Galatasaray extended their advantage well beyond Osimhen's opener. Yunus Akgun doubled the lead in the 28th minute, before Aleksey Batrakov added a third in the 49th minute. Rafael Leao completed the rout from the penalty spot in the 55th minute.

Konyaspor's Awaziem played the full 90 minutes for the hosts but could do nothing to stem a clinical Galatasaray performance. The Nigerian defenders were on opposite sides of a one-sided contest.

The result pushes Galatasaray to 25 points at the top of the Süper Lig standings. Amed Sportif, their nearest challengers, are next in action on Sunday when they host Eyupspor.
