Postecoglou Takes Charge at Al Nassr as Ronaldo's New Manager

Ange Postecoglou has been appointed head coach of Al Nassr, the Saudi Pro League club confirmed via social media, where he will take charge of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Australian has signed a two-season deal with Al Nassr — his first managerial role since Nottingham Forest dismissed him in October 2025 after just 39 days in charge.
Al Nassr ended last season as Saudi Pro League champions, their first title since Ronaldo's move to the club in 2023. That triumph was delivered under head coach Jorge Jesus, who had been working on a one-year contract and has since departed.
Portugal national team manager Roberto Martinez, who is currently coaching Ronaldo at the FIFA World Cup, had been linked with the vacant position before Postecoglou was confirmed.
A trophy-laden CV
Postecoglou brings a strong record to the role. He guided Tottenham Hotspur to Europa League glory in May 2025 — one of the most significant pieces of silverware in the club's history — before being sacked the following month.
Prior to his time in north London, he spent two seasons at Celtic, where he collected five trophies in total, including a domestic treble. His appointment at Al Nassr signals a fresh chapter after a turbulent spell in England.
