Queiroz Parts Ways with Ghana After World Cup Elimination

Carlos Queiroz has resigned as head coach of Ghana just three months after taking the job, following the Black Stars' elimination at the last 32 of the World Cup.
The 73-year-old was appointed in April and guided Ghana to a third-place finish in Group L. Their tournament ended in the first round of the knockouts, however, where Colombia beat them 1-0.
Queiroz arrived with an impressive pedigree — the former Manchester United coach was appearing at his fifth consecutive World Cup, having previously managed Iran, Portugal, and Egypt at major international tournaments.
He was not alone in stepping down on Sunday. Jordan also parted ways with head coach Jamal Sellami following their campaign, which ended with a fourth-place finish in Group J.
