Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has spoken with pride about his players' performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026, even as the Black Stars bowed out of the tournament following a 1-0 defeat to Colombia.
Jhon Arias proved the difference between the two sides, striking in the 14th minute from close range after latching onto a cross from substitute Luis Suarez, who had entered the field to replace the injured Jhon Cordoba. The result sent Colombia through to the round of 16, where they will face Switzerland.
Queiroz acknowledges Colombian dominance
Reflecting on the defeat in a post-match interview with Sporty TV, Queiroz conceded that Colombia were the better side on the day. He pointed to their passing and movement as the primary source of trouble for his team, noting that Ghana were too slow to win the ball back and push forward in the early stages.
