Shooting Stars have left Nigeria bound for Tunisia, where they will face CS Sfaxien in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie this Sunday.

The Oluyole Warriors departed Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday, travelling through Casablanca, Morocco, before continuing on to Sfax. The trip carries added significance — it is the club's first away fixture in continental competition in 27 years.

A slender lead to protect

Salisu Yusuf's side carry a 1-0 advantage into the return encounter, courtesy of a goal from Emmanuel Lucky in the first leg, which was played at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.

The decisive clash is scheduled to be held at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax, with kick-off set for 6pm Nigerian time. Shooting Stars will need to hold their nerve against an experienced Tunisian outfit to secure progress to the next round.

El-Kanemi Warriors also in strong position

Nigeria's other representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, El-Kanemi Warriors, are equally well placed ahead of their own second leg. The Warriors hammered UDIB of Guinea-Bissau 3-0 in the first leg, giving them a commanding cushion heading into the return fixture.
