Diego Simeone has declared Julián Álvarez fully prepared for Atlético Madrid's high-stakes top-of-the-table encounter against Barcelona this weekend, dismissing any lingering questions about the striker's mindset following an unsuccessful transfer attempt in the summer.

Álvarez, who had been linked with a move away from the Wanda Metropolitano during the summer window, ultimately remained at Atlético Madrid. Now, Simeone has thrown his full backing behind the Argentine forward ahead of one of LaLiga's most anticipated fixtures of the season.

The clash between Atlético Madrid and Barcelona carries enormous weight at the top of the standings, with both clubs competing for supremacy in Spain's top flight. Simeone's public confidence in Álvarez signals that the manager intends to rely on the forward as a key figure in the contest.
