Spurs Agree £85m Deal to Sign Savinho from Manchester City

1 hour ago·1 min

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Savinho after agreeing an £85m deal with Manchester City for the Brazil forward, who is set to undergo a medical with the north London club on Friday.

Spurs will pay an initial £75m, with a further £10m in potential add-ons — £5m of which are understood to be effectively guaranteed. That means Manchester City are likely to pocket a minimum of £80m from the sale.

The deal would represent a club record sale for Manchester City, eclipsing the £82m they received when Julian Alvarez departed for Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2024.

A bit-part role at City

Savinho, 22, joined Manchester City in 2024 but never fully established himself in the starting lineup. Last season, he started just seven of his 24 Premier League appearances, contributing one goal and two assists across those outings.

Spurs are also in separate discussions with Manchester City over a potential move for striker Omar Marmoush, as they continue to bolster their attacking options.

Spurs' summer spending spree

The Savinho deal would push Tottenham Hotspur's summer outlay beyond £200m — spread across six first-team additions. The biggest expenditure came in midfield, where the club spent £185m to bring in Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and Matheus Fernandes from West Ham United.

Defender Jan Paul van Hecke arrived from Brighton for £52m as a replacement for Cristian Romero, while Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Martin Dubravka all joined on free transfers.
