Tottenham Sign Savio from Manchester City in £85m Deal

45 minutes ago·1 min

Tottenham have completed the signing of Brazilian winger Savio from Manchester City for a fee that could reach £85 million, the club confirmed on Tuesday 25 August 2026.

Spurs will pay an initial £75 million for the 22-year-old, with up to £10 million more available in performance-related add-ons. Sky Sports News understands that £5 million of those potential bonuses are effectively guaranteed, meaning Manchester City stand to receive a minimum of £80 million from the sale.

The arrival of Savio — formerly known as Savinho during his time at Manchester City — pushes Tottenham's total summer expenditure beyond the £300 million mark, underlining the club's ambition ahead of the 2026/27 season.

A long-pursued target

Tottenham had identified Savio as a priority target for more than a year, having missed out on the Brazil international during the previous summer's transfer window. The club's persistence ultimately paid off, securing the winger on their second attempt.

Club record for Manchester City

For Manchester City, the deal represents a club-record sale, surpassing the £82 million they received when Julian Alvarez departed for Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2024.
