Trabzonspor Target Super Eagles Striker Tolu Arokodare on Season-Long Loan
Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor are targeting Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare as a potential solution to their striking problems ahead of the 2026/27 season, according to Turkish outlet TRT Spor.
The Black Sea Storm are in the market for a new centre-forward after Felipe Augusto departed for Russian Premier League club Zenit St. Petersburg, and Arokodare has emerged as one of their top targets. The club are reportedly weighing a season-long loan deal for the 26-year-old.
A difficult debut in England
Arokodare made the move to Wolverhampton Wanderers from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk last summer, but his first campaign in English football proved challenging. He made 42 appearances across all competitions, contributing seven goals and two assists for the Old Gold.
Wolves were relegated from the Premier League last season, and Arokodare is widely expected to seek a new destination this summer as he looks to maintain a high level of competition in his career.
Why Trabzonspor want the Super Eagles forward
Trabzonspor's interest is driven by the Nigerian's physical profile — his aerial ability, imposing frame, and experience at the top level are all qualities the Turkish club believe can add a new attacking dimension to their squad heading into the new season.
Should a deal be finalised, Arokodare would join a growing list of Nigerian footballers who have plied their trade in the Turkish Super Lig. Trabzonspor are working to reinforce several positions across the squad as they prepare for the campaign ahead.
