Wolves Reject Fiorentina Bid for Arokodare as Championship Club Holds Firm on Valuation

Wolverhampton Wanderers have rebuffed an approach from Italian side Fiorentina for Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare, with the Championship club determined to hold out for their asking price, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano also revealed that Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor submitted a proposal for the 25-year-old striker, though Arokodare himself has no interest in making that particular move.

"Understand Fiorentina had a proposal turned down by Wolves for striker Tolu Arokodare. Trabzonspor also made a proposal but the player is not keen on the move," Romano posted on X.

Wolves demand over €20 million

Wolves are understood to value their Super Eagles forward at more than €20 million and have made clear they will not sanction a departure unless that threshold is met. Fiorentina become the latest club to test the club's resolve following Wolves' relegation from the Premier League.

Arokodare has attracted significant transfer attention this summer, with several clubs circling the Nigerian forward since Wolves dropped into the second tier of English football.

A difficult debut season in England

The striker arrived at Molineux last summer from Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk in a deal worth £23.4 million, signing a four-year contract with an additional 12-month option in Wolves' favour.

He made the move on the back of an outstanding campaign in Belgium, where he had established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in the Pro League. The transition to English football, however, proved far harder than anticipated.

Arokodare managed three goals and one assist across 33 Premier League appearances — the majority of which came from the substitutes' bench — as Wolves were ultimately relegated from the top flight.

Despite that underwhelming debut season, Wolves remain committed to securing maximum value for their prized striker, and are showing no sign of yielding to below-par offers from interested clubs.
