Aston Villa Agree Loan Deal for West Ham Defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aston Villa have reached an agreement with West Ham United to sign defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka on an initial loan deal that includes an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old DR Congo international has been cleared to travel to the Midlands for a medical, though the precise financial terms of the arrangement remain undisclosed. West Ham had previously sought a £25 million fee from interested clubs.
Wan-Bissaka sat out West Ham's opening two Championship fixtures as the two clubs worked through transfer negotiations, with the right-back keen to remain in the Premier League.
A busy summer at both clubs
West Ham have been active sellers this window, receiving £85 million from Tottenham Hotspur for Mateus Fernandes and £60 million for Crysencio Summerville. Captain Jarrod Bowen, however, has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.
Villa have matched that activity on their own side of the market. Their most significant outgoing was the £117 million sale of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea — a figure that gives them the lowest net spend in the Premier League at approximately £110 million once all sales are factored in.
Despite that net position, Unai Emery's side have moved decisively in the transfer market, adding midfielders Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes to their squad. Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho has also arrived on a loan deal carrying an obligation to buy, and highly rated young centre-back Modou Keba Cisse has joined the ranks.
Champions League football awaits
Villa open their Premier League season away at Brighton on Sunday and face the added demand of UEFA Champions League football this term, having finished fourth in the league and claimed the UEFA Europa League title under Emery last season.
