Brighton & Hove Albion chief executive Paul Barber has spoken warmly of James Milner, revealing that the club were prepared to offer the veteran midfielder another year at the Amex.

Barber described Milner's conduct — both in training and away from the pitch — as that of a remarkable person, citing his attitude as a defining quality throughout his time at the club.

Milner, whose decorated career has spanned several of England's biggest clubs, earned widespread admiration during his spell at Brighton & Hove Albion for his professionalism and dedication.
