Chukwueze Earns Strong Rating as AC Milan Stage Stunning Comeback Against Lazio
Samuel Chukwueze delivered a solid display as AC Milan mounted a dramatic comeback to draw 2-2 with Lazio in a Serie A encounter on Saturday, clawing back from two goals down to claim a share of the points.
The Nigeria winger started the match under manager Ruben Amorim and played the full 90 minutes — a continued show of faith from his Portuguese coach as Milan build momentum in the early stages of the season.
How the match unfolded
Lazio dominated the first half, with Matteo Cancellieri opening the scoring in the 10th minute before Tijjani Noslin doubled their advantage in the 39th minute to send the hosts into the break with a commanding lead.
Amorim responded decisively at half-time, introducing three substitutes — among them Christian Pulisic and Diego Moreira. The changes proved inspired. Moreira turned the game on its head with two goals in the space of just two minutes: a volley from a Pulisic cross in the 65th minute, then a composed strike from the edge of the area in the 67th.
The draw brought Lazio their first dropped points of the season, leaving them on 10 points, while Milan stayed unbeaten with eight.
Chukwueze's role and rating
Respected Milan outlet Sempre Milan rated Chukwueze 6 out of 10, noting that he caused Lazio problems along the flank. However, the publication pointed to a lack of end product — particularly in the first half — and highlighted his defensive tracking as an area of concern on Lazio's opening goal.
