Eight Nations Set for CAF Beach Soccer AFCON Senegal 2026 After Cairo Draw

38 minutes ago·1 min

The groups for the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Senegal 2026 are set, following the Final Draw held in Cairo on Wednesday. Eight nations will contest the continental title across two groups of four teams each.

The tournament runs from 28 November to 06 December in Senegal, with the added incentive that the competition will also serve as a qualifier for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Group A: defending champions eye more glory

Hosts and defending champions Senegal headline Group A alongside Mozambique, Uganda, and Ghana. Senegal enter the tournament in formidable form, having won the last five editions of the competition — in 2016, 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2024.

The hosts will be motivated to extend that remarkable run on home sand, with the additional prize of FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualification raising the stakes even higher.

Group B: Mauritania lead the challengers

Group B brings together 2024 runners-up Mauritania, Morocco, Malawi, and debutants Angola. Mauritania arrive with momentum after a strong campaign at the 2024 edition in Egypt, where they pushed Senegal all the way to the final before finishing second.

Morocco and Malawi will be eager to make a deep run, while Angola make their debut at the continental finals and face a steep learning curve against established sides.

Fixtures to follow

Details on match schedules and kick-off times are yet to be confirmed and will be announced in due course. Full information is available at www.cafonline.com.
