Dirk Kuyt, interim head coach of Fenerbahce, described his side's comeback victory over Liverpool as "another miracle in Istanbul" after the Turkish club produced a stunning Champions League turnaround on Wednesday night.

Fenerbahce trailed twice across the course of the match yet refused to fold, eventually overpowering Liverpool 3-2 to claim one of the club's most remarkable European results in recent memory.

The result will draw inevitable comparisons to the city's most storied footballing night — Liverpool's own miraculous comeback in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final, also played in Istanbul.
