Achraf Hakimi has praised Morocco's resilience after the Atlas Lions came from behind twice to beat Haiti 4-2 in their final group-stage fixture at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Haiti made a stunning start, taking the lead after 10 minutes through an own goal by Yassine Bounou — Haiti's first FIFA World Cup goal in 52 years, the first for Sébastien Migne's side at that level in over half a century.
Morocco drew level when Hakimi bundled the ball over the line in the 39th minute, converting after goalkeeper Johny Placide had parried a shot from Bilal El Khannouss. The lead was short-lived, however, as Isidor restored Haiti's advantage four minutes later with a powerful strike.
The Atlas Lions levelled once more in first-half stoppage time, Ismael Saibari finishing off a move that Hakimi had set up. Soufiane Rahimi and Yassine Gessime then struck in the second half to seal a 4-2 win and send Morocco through with full momentum.
