Jamie Vardy Claims Iheanacho and Ndidi Used 'Juju Cream' to Recover From Injuries at Leicester City
Former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has claimed that his ex-teammates Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi relied on a mysterious substance they called "juju cream" — reportedly sourced from a Nigerian witch doctor — to recover from injuries during their time at the club.
Vardy made the revelation on the latest episode of his podcast, Jamie Vardy's Having a Party, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from his years at King Power Stadium.
The 'juju cream' ritual
According to the 39-year-old, whenever either of the Super Eagles players picked up a knock, they would fly back to Nigeria for a single day and return clutching what Vardy described as "a nice big tub of juju cream." The ointment, he said, was the only treatment the club's masseuse was permitted to apply to the injured area.
"They used to get injured. Little knocks, then go back to Nigeria for just one day. They come back with a nice big tub of juju cream. That was the only thing that the masseuse was allowed to apply to the injured area. They used to tell us that it had come from a Nigerian witch doctor," Vardy said.
Vardy was a teammate of both players from 2017 to 2024, a period in which Leicester City lifted the Community Shield and the FA Cup.
Where the duo are now
Ndidi has since moved to Turkish giants Besiktas, while Iheanacho is thriving at Scottish heavyweights Celtic, where he has added league and cup titles to his collection. Reports also indicate that Iheanacho is set to sign a new two-year deal at Celtic, underlining his importance to the club.
Whether or not the cream deserves any credit, both players have continued to shine for club and country long after their Leicester City days.
