Kano Pillars Appoint Daniel Ogunmodede as New Technical Adviser

Kano Pillars have officially unveiled Daniel Ogunmodede as their new technical adviser, with the announcement made at the club's secretariat in the presence of chairman Ahmad Musbahu Garo on Saturday.
The 46-year-old steps into the role previously held by Mohammed Babaganaru, who steered the Sai Masu Gida to safety in the last NPFL campaign. Kano Pillars — four-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions — have already begun preparations for the 2026/2027 season, with the squad reporting for pre-season training on Monday.
The club celebrated the appointment on X, describing Ogunmodede as "a proven tactician with a winning mentality" and welcoming him to what they called "the home of football."
Farewell to Remo Stars
Before taking charge at Kano Pillars, Ogunmodede issued a heartfelt farewell message to his former club Remo Stars, reflecting on what the experience meant to him.
"What started as an opportunity became a family, a purpose, and one of the defining chapters of my life," he wrote. "Together, we built, we believed, we struggled, we learned, and ultimately, we made history."
He described the trophy won during his tenure as "the reward for years of sacrifice, resilience, faith, and hard work" — a moment he called one of the proudest of his career, not for the silverware alone but for everything it represented.
Ogunmodede signed off on an optimistic note, expressing gratitude and urging Remo Stars to continue growing: "May the club continue to grow from strength to strength, produce more champions, inspire future generations, and achieve even greater heights in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond."
