Moffi Warns Super Eagles of Tough Portugal Test After Poland Draw

yesterday·1 min

Nigeria striker Terem Moffi has cautioned that the Super Eagles face a stern examination when they take on Portugal in an international friendly on June 10, even as the team draws encouragement from a competitive 2-2 draw against Poland.

Moffi was among the scorers in Wednesday's stalemate in Poland, opening the account in the 23rd minute after meeting a precise pass from Moses Simon. Paul Onauchu doubled Nigeria's lead from the penalty spot after a Polish defender handled inside the box.

The Super Eagles appeared on course for victory, but a moment of defensive carelessness from a corner allowed Nicola Zalewski to equalise before half-time, and Przemyslaw Wisniewski struck a stunning 25-yard effort deep in stoppage time to deny Nigeria all three points.

Moffi's take on the Portugal challenge

Speaking to Brila FM after the match, Moffi said he was encouraged by the team's overall performance but made clear that the next assignment would demand more.
