Ndidi Eyes Important Test as Super Eagles Face Poland in Warsaw Friendly

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has described the international friendly against Poland as an important measure of his side's readiness for the challenges ahead.
Éric Chelle's squad travel to Warsaw to face Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium, with Ndidi making clear that the outcome matters — but so does the process.
More than just a friendly
"Of course it's about winning, but development also counts. A match against such a top rival as Poland will be a good test for our vision for the future," Ndidi told przegladsportowy.onet.
The Nigeria captain stressed that preparation and motivation would define how his side perform, rather than the weight of past results against the same opposition.
Memories of Wrocław
This fixture marks only the second time Nigeria and Poland have met. Their sole previous encounter took place in Wrocław in March 2018, when Victor Moses converted a penalty to hand the Super Eagles a 1-0 win — a result that formed part of Nigeria's build-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
"I remember it was a great match in an amazing atmosphere, and we won. But that was eight years ago. What matters now is what will happen tomorrow, how well we have prepared ourselves, how motivated we are," Ndidi added.
Portugal next on the horizon
Nigeria's busy stretch of fixtures continues the following Wednesday, when the Super Eagles are set to face Portugal in a friendly in Leiria — another stern examination for Chelle's evolving squad.
