Wilfred Ndidi has declared that the Super Eagles were the better side in Wednesday's international friendly against Poland, even after the two nations shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in Warsaw.
Nigeria looked set to claim all three points going into the final seconds of the match, only to be denied by a stunning long-range effort from Przemyslaw Wisniewski that cancelled out what had seemed a certain victory.
How the goals unfolded
Terem Moffi broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, converting a cross supplied by Moses Simon to put the Super Eagles ahead. Poland hit back in first-half added time to level at 1-1.
Paul Onuachu restored Nigeria's advantage with 13 minutes remaining, stepping up to convert from the penalty spot after a Polish defender handled the ball inside the area. Yet Poland snatched a share of the points in the dying seconds when Wisniewski's thunderous strike from distance flew in to make it 2-2.
Ndidi's verdict
Speaking after the final whistle, Ndidi was upbeat despite the late setback.
