Pedro Neto says Portugal are heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup with real belief, following their 2-1 international friendly victory over Nigeria's Super Eagles in Leiria on Wednesday night.
Roberto Martinez's side delivered a composed performance at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, with Neto himself breaking the deadlock in the 23rd minute — a finish that ended a four-month goal drought for club and country.
Nigeria fight back before Conceição seals it
The Super Eagles refused to lie down, and Sevilla striker Akor Adams pulled Nigeria level before the break to make it 1-1 at half-time.
Portugal restored their lead when substitute Francisco Conceição struck with 15 minutes remaining, securing a victory that Martinez's men could feel good about.
Neto: 'We will be prepared'
The Chelsea winger spoke positively about Portugal's back-to-back wins over Chile and Nigeria, drawing confidence from the form the squad has shown ahead of the World Cup.
