Professional Game Match Officials Limited chief operating officer Howard Webb has endorsed the decision to dismiss Phil Foden for violent conduct during Manchester City's 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, while also acknowledging that Bruno Fernandes should have received a yellow card for a kick that set the incident in motion.
Foden was sent off by referee Michael Oliver after retaliating against Fernandes, who had fouled and then kicked the Manchester City forward. Fernandes, however, left the pitch without any punishment.
