Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro played his part as Monza and Parma cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw in Sunday's Serie A fixture.

The Nigerian international made his second appearance for Monza this season and has now contributed one assist in that time. Akinsanmiro was composed and effective in the middle of the park, limiting the host's ability to build dangerous attacking moves.

Robinson opens the scoring

Parma broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Jay Robinson unleashed a powerful right-footed effort into the far bottom corner from the edge of the box — a goal that gave the visitors a deserved lead heading into the break.

Monza came close to doubling the advantage shortly afterwards, but Mariano Troilo made a crucial block to deny an Omari Forson breakaway. Moments later, a combination of the crossbar and goalkeeper Corvi's fingertips kept out a deflected Andrea Colpani finish, preventing Monza from making it 2-0.

Lontani levels for Parma

Parma's lead did not last the full 90 minutes. Simone Lontani drew the visitors level in the 60th minute, guiding his effort through a crowded penalty area with the inside of his right boot from 12 yards out into the far bottom corner.

Neither side could find a winner thereafter, and the points were shared after a competitive but ultimately inconclusive afternoon in Serie A.
