Arsenal Open Talks With Real Madrid Over Endrick Transfer

2 hours ago·2 min

Arsenal have held formal talks with Real Madrid regarding a potential transfer for Brazilian forward Endrick, according to talkSPORT.

The 20-year-old has drawn significant attention from clubs across Europe this summer, following an impressive loan stint at Lyon during the previous campaign. Arsenal, seeking reinforcements in attack during the closing days of the transfer window, have made an official approach to the Spanish giants.

Mourinho standing firm

Real Madrid's new head coach Jose Mourinho has made his position clear — Endrick is not available for transfer. Earlier this week, Mourinho addressed the situation directly, stating: "He's a player I like a lot and who has had many contacts from clubs that wanted him on loan or transferred. I didn't want to loan or sell him because I like the player, and I'd like to work with this young player who has important talents."

Despite that public stance, Arsenal are prepared to push further and test Real Madrid's resolve, having already lodged a formal bid.

Crowded market for Arsenal

The Gunners' pursuit of Endrick is not their only attacking option on the table. Arsenal have also held talks in London with a delegation from Atletico Madrid over forward Julian Alvarez. The club had additionally pursued Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jnr, who ultimately chose to commit his future to the Bernabeu by agreeing new terms.

Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Roma have also been credited with interest in Endrick ahead of the transfer deadline.

Injury concern

Endrick's availability has been further complicated by a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined. The versatile attacker featured in neither of Real Madrid's opening two LaLiga fixtures this season, adding uncertainty to any deal that could be struck.
