Carlos Queiroz Returns as Ghana Black Stars Head Coach
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the reappointment of Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the Black Stars, signalling a fresh chapter for Ghana's national team on the international stage.
The GFA announced the decision in an official statement on Wednesday, revealing that an agreement had been reached with Queiroz to lead the side through the next phase of the team's programme — commencing with the upcoming international window.
A new mandate begins
Queiroz's first spell in charge concluded shortly after Ghana's participation in the FIFA World Cup, and his return comes following discussions between the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
In the statement, the GFA pointed to Queiroz's wealth of international experience and his technical understanding of the Black Stars squad as key reasons behind the decision to bring him back.
"The GFA believes Queiroz's extensive international experience, technical expertise and knowledge of the Black Stars position him strongly to lead the team into this next chapter."
Further details regarding the scope of the new mandate, as well as the Black Stars' upcoming schedule, are expected to be released in due course as both the GFA and Queiroz shift their attention toward building a new and successful phase for Ghana.
