Mac Allister's Father Dismisses Real Madrid Transfer Talk
Carlos Mac Allister, father and representative of Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, has firmly denied reports claiming that the Argentine star is in discussions with Real Madrid, insisting no contact has been made with the Spanish club.
Speaking to 365Scores, Carlos was unequivocal:
"We've not spoken to any Real Madrid official, what's being circulated about us holding talks with Real Madrid is not true. Alexis still has two seasons on his contract with Liverpool. Right now, his focus is to get some rest for a few weeks, and then go back to playing in the Premier League, that's the current situation."
Rest first, football second
Following Argentina's FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, Alexis is taking time away from football to recover before returning to Premier League action. Carlos emphasised that any legitimate future offer would be channelled through Liverpool's management before any other conversation takes place.
He acknowledged that interest from elite clubs is flattering, but stressed the importance of showing respect to an institution that showed faith in his son.
Mac Allister's World Cup journey
Alexis was a pivotal figure throughout Argentina's run to the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, appearing in all eight of their matches. He scored a decisive goal in the quarterfinal against Switzerland and was central to a record-setting unbeaten run — the longest in World Cup history.
Despite those contributions, his display in Argentina's 1-0 final defeat to Spain drew significant criticism, leaving his tournament on a bittersweet note.
